1: The first step to discuss dental Implants is through an initial consultation with an Implantologist. This is the most important stage. Here at the Marylebone Implant Centre our Implantologist will create a personalised treatment plan for each individual patient by asking questions relating to your dental and medical history. One of the most crucial aspects of this stage is a CT scan, which is a three-dimensional image of your mouth. Unlike a flat 1 or 2-dimensional x-ray, a CT scan will help our Implantologist gather accurate information and to measure your bone density, and volume and view your nerves and vessels in the area where a dental Implant is potentially going to be placed. It also helps us to give a full costing up front, duration and timing of appointments. Any questions, queries and worries you may have will all be discussed at this stage and answered. We believe here at Marylebone Implant centre that full transparency is important so the patient is fully up to speed with the entire process. We work hard to ensure all your fears are allayed from the outset and the patient is fully informed regarding the treatment and the total cost of dental implants in London.
Step 2. What to expect:
At your consultation appointment, we will give you a detailed treatment plan with all relevant information about the procedure. We offer this as an email or as a hard copy to take away with you. We recommend familiarising yourself with the plan and discussing it with anyone you wish to help you make an informed decision. Due to continuous improvements in technology, and the constant development of new techniques by experts in the field, implants are now a much simpler undertaking than in the past. They are a remarkably low-risk process, there are a maximum of 3 stages and the whole treatment can be completed in as few as 4 or 5 visits, depending on what type of treatment you need. As soon as you decide to go ahead with the treatment an Implant or Implants can be fitted under local anaesthetic. It is a simple and short procedure and will be left to integrate into the bone for a specific period of time-based on your plan, usually 3 or 6 months. In the event that a patient does not have the adequate amount of bone structure for dental implants, our Implantologist may have to harvest the patient’s native bone or use synthetic to increase the bone volume in these areas. This is called a bone graft which our expert consultants undertake on a daily basis at the practice. After this period has passed, your final restorations will be prepared and finalised. You will at this point be nearing the finish line of your new perfect smile. If you would like more information on bone grafting please contact us at 02034342934 or via email at [email protected] .
- Types of Implants.
There are 2 different types of implant systems that are used by our implantologists here at Marylebone Implant Centre. Our standard brand is Implant Direct Sybron Solutions, The other brand we use is Straumann. We have seen excellent results with these two leading brands. It is important to do some research into which Implant you and the Implantologist think may be the most suitable for you.
- Fees and Finance.
It’s important to think of implants as an investment, even though they can be quite expensive. We sympathise with the fact that it can be quite costly and to try and make it financially easier on our patients we offer a pay-as-you-go system. We never ask for the full amount upfront. You can pay your total balance off per appointment over a period of time until your treatment is complete. We also work with a dental finance company that can help you spread the cost over up to 5 years. Be sure to get in touch if you want to find out more about the dental implant cost in London.
- Upkeep and aftercare
An essential part of implants is aftercare. Your new implants must be taken care of and cleaned as meticulously as your natural teeth. To help you with this we require an annual check up with our implantologist and hygeinist, who will give you their expert advice. We will also provide you with a full aftercare package once you have had your treatment and are always contactable via email or phone to provide you with answers and help to any questions and queries you might have.
