Implant life duration. How long can it last?
Dental Implant are a great way to replace missing teeth, they not only look and feel similar to a normal tooth they also work in the same way too without disturbing the patients other teeth. With annual Dental Checkups and regular visits to the Dental hygienist they can also last as long as a patient’s own teeth.
There are many Dental Implant brands on the market at the moment and some of which have many years of research behind them. Here at the Marylebone Implant Centre we use two of the very best Dental Implant Systems from two of the top Dental Implant research Companies both of which have over 30+ years of research behind them, both systems are titanium Implants. Titanium is used in many hospital surgical implement like implants for joint replacements ect. Titanium is also shown to bond very well with the bone which means if the patient has annual checkups and regular hygiene appointment to maintain their oral health, Dental Implants can last for decades just the same as your normal teeth.
“Implant Direct Sybron System” is just one of the Dental Implant systems we use here at the Marylebone Implant Centre; most of the research from this company has been used by other Dental Implant companies to produce their own brands of Dental Implants. The “Implant Direct Sybron System” has given many of our patient excellent results with years of being able to smile and enjoy life to the full as well as being able to eat the food they like the most.
We also use “Straumann ” Dental Implant, These again also have many years of research behind them as well as being one of the best known Dental Implants on the market. Although these may make the cost of the treatment slightly more expensive they also have the added benefit of reducing the healing time of the Dental Implant for some patients, giving patients the advantage of completing their restoration treatment earlier. Again these have given our patients excellent results.
Most Dental Implant companies offer guarantees with their Dental Implants, once the Dental Implant has integrated with the bone and the final restoration stage has been completed there should be no reason why the Dental Implant shouldn’t last the same as the patients normal teeth, A very small proportion of Dental Implants fail, most for no known reason, If this were to be the case this normally happens within a few weeks of placement or before the restoration stage and would be replaced. All guarantees work on the basis that the patients maintain regular hygiene appointment and annual Dental checkups.
