Once you have had your implants placed you will need to consider some of the points below to assist in your healing process. You won’t be able to brush over the site of the implant after it is placed, you will need to wait until the stitches have either dissolved or have been removed. It is possible that you will taste blood in your mouth for a few days post surgery, this is completely normal. Swelling and inflammation are also normal. Be prepared to change your diet. Stick to a soft and preferably cool or cold diet such as soups, yoghurts, risotto or rice dishes, smoothies and ice cream. Avoid food or drink that is hot. You will need to avoid heavy exercise for at least a week after the surgery. You will be given a full list of post operative instructions after your surgery and these will be explained to you in detail. You will also be given medication by your dentist and must take them as instructed as this will also help with healing. If at any point during this time you experience any problems, you must make sure you contact us at MIC.
