Yes, what the dentist can see on a CT scan impacts on patient treatment. An OPG is a basic 2D x-ray (a flat image) and is used for general dentistry. A CT scan is a 3D image and provides much more information. This gives the dentist a clear look at the mouth, jaw bone and teeth. Yes, all patients who attend a consultation will be given a treatment plant, which will contain all the information about their proposed treatment, costs and time scales. The plan will also have all terms and conditions.
Will I have to make my mind up straight away?
No, one of the reasons we give patients a treatment plan on the same day is so they can take it away with them to read and look over, you may have questions relating to your treatment that you would like to ask us first. It’s up to you when or if you then book your first appointment with us.
