Theoretically dental implants can be placed at any age depending on a few things.
A child would have to have fully developed jaw bone and gums. By the age of 7 years a child should have enough bone growth for a dentist to identify any future problems. An elderly patient would have no problems having implants placed as long as they were relatively fit and health. An elderly person will heal with the same predictability as a younger person; also dental implants are easier for people to deal with then having teeth extracted or having to have root canal.
Dental implants can improve quality of life for many individuals no matter what your age is; by letting them eat better, get better nutrition, stay more social and add confidence. We take a full medical history from all of our patients and any concerns would be discussed with the implantologist at the first consultation appointment. We are also available to offer advice before, during and after treatment and are happy to answer any questions.
